MArxist revolutionary doctine is based on the idea that inevitably the upper class would grow smaller and smaller and the large number of people dispossessed would inevitably overthriw them and form a workers republic where the means of production would be owned by everyone.

Liberation theology is not based on inevitable historical trends, worldwide revolution or the like- it is limited to a local area. And, unlike Marxism it focuses on the poor- Marx focuses on the workers are the revolutionaries. Many included in liberation theology are unemployed.

As a black man you should read some works from your ancestors (and mine too, since technically we all started in Africa).

Some good starters...

W.E.B. DuBois --the souls of black folks (amazing book) DuBois started the NAACP by the way

Emily Townes

Bell Hooks

James H. Cone (I dare you to read what he has to say)

Martin Luther King (It would be sad if you have never read anything from him)

Cornel West --Dynamic Speaker

or look into a book call the Pedagogy of the Oppressed

I have no idea why they keep lumping James Meeks in with Wright and Pfleger. James Meeks is a conservative evangelical, a Baptist. The Southern Poverty Law Center has him as one of the nation's top hatemongers because of his views on homosexuality. Meeks also opposes abortion.

As a BLACK MAN growing up in Chicago, I know "Black Liberation Theology" is NOT good for the black community nor was integration nor Aparthied. Economic independence and faith in the TRUTH is as was the Answer!

This reminds me of an unfortunate problem - African-Americans are disproportionately religious. I think that it's probably due to their traditional association with the American South.

Your complete lack of understanding of liberation theology, south american politics and communism is mind boggling.

First, communist dogma rejects religion, and therefore liberation theology, and all theologies.

Second, liberation theology does not emphasize revolution, it emphasizes solidarity amongst outcast communities, so that they may raise themselves up and achieve there own 'liberation.' This is of course what Jesus advocated as well.

Who shall inherit the Earth? Oh wait, Oh wait, I know this one, the meek, right?

Read something by Phillip Berryman, Sobrino, or some of the speeches by Oscar Romero, and you'll see its hardly violent struggle they advocated.

Finally, Black Liberation Theology not only comes from Jesuit thinkers, but from the Black Nationalism of Marcus Garvey, who also advocated solidarity and control within the black community. None of their ideas came from Marx, and Garvey even advocated for black economic and very very capitalistic freedom.

If you want to veil your racism, its best to use a better woven material.
