Bill Johnson On Lakeland Healing Revival and Todd Bentley

with 20 comments

Bill Johnson answers the criticism of Todd Bentley, well we knew that there would be a lot of people making up their mind without understanding what is happening.

People who did not know who Todd was five months ago are telling us he is a false prophet.

  1. “People who did not know who Todd was five months ago are telling us he is a false prophet.”

This is true, you can put me on that list.
Give it time and soon he will be exposed for the charlatan he really is and everyone will know him as a false prophet – well all except those totally gullible, totally brainwashed diehards. What’s he doing now, leaving Lakeland after raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations and moving on to other cities to do the same?

    • It’s funny how people claim to be god! How? By judgeing! U people claim to be Christians?!? People that slander other Christians make me sick! If Todd Bentley is a false prophet u really think god needs ur help to crucfify him? or to point him or her out? And judge people cuz he needs ur help? The way u judge Todd and any of these people is the way ur father in heaven is gonna judge u when u leave this planet! Do people read the word at all? Ask holy spirit? Does he not Speak to u? Can u not hear him speak? C’mon people! Is this the way ur supposed to represent Jesus and His kingdom? People that have issues with signs and wonders are jealous and have unbelief! But have belief for the END TIMES!?! Let god be the judge NOT YOU!

  2. Either Bill has poor discernment, is also a false prophet himself, or just doesn’t give a toss. Either way, I have lost all respect for his ministry.
For all the reasons previously listed, I also believe TB’s ministry is not of God.

BTW you wont be damned for treating any prophet with caution, but you could be damned for believing one.

Having belonged to a church that became cult like, in the past, I am disturbed by the structure of Bills statement.

Bill tells us we can trust TB on his recommendation, but not on the word of God. He offers zero scriptures to back it up.Who is Bill? Does he think his soft tones will assure us. If he expects so, then I put him in the same group as TB.

Bill rips into the person (In soft tones) for asking a question. The question “How in Gods name can you endorse TB?” Bill says “By the way – criticism in the form of a question is not a question.” I hardly think it was a criticism. It was a good question in need of a biblical answer. Instead the message is given out that it is wrong to ask questions, and you are in deceit if you ask questions. (Very cult like, IMO)

What will Bill say when more and more evidence of TB’s false ministry come to light. Will he expect us to forget it and go about our merry lives.

I can only hope and pray that people will not be lured into false security based on Bills orchestrated, and carefully put together theatrical tones of peace and love. They were just as false as the opposite been violent, fishing ministry. At least with TBs ministry discernment is easier.

BTW what are the things we will be judged on as Christians? The next time you are asked to dig deep to support such and such a ministry, keep this scripture in mind, and ask where that money is actually going?
The Word that Jesus spoke, something dear to Him.
Make sure you read to the end, so you also know the consequences if you don’t comply.
    Matt 25
    The Sheep and the Goats
31″When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34″Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37″Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40″The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’

41″Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44″They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45″He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46″Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Bill Johnson says “By the way – criticism in the form of a question is not a question.”

The original question was “How in Gods name can you endorse Tod Bentley?” (It was that simple)

Jesus said in Matt 24″For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.

Bill implies that to question is wrong, he publicly belittled the simple question that was asked,he even twisted the simple question to make out as though it was an attack.

My question is, What was the point of Jesus warning us against false prophets if Bill teaches us that it is wrong to ask a question?

I cant think of any more nicer way to ask the question than this person did. Yet Bill ridicules that person for asking it. What he is really doing, is ridiculing you for asking questions in your own mind. Very subtle people control. Setting people up for the future and programming them to accept any thing that is told them without questioning.

This is not an innocent mistake, but a calculated programming tool.
Cults only survive when people fail to ask questions.

Do yourselves a favour and spend the next 80 minutes seeing one possible result of not asking questions. Listen to the carefully to the comments of the members they were not much different to many of us today. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1876667182447436591&q=jones+town&ei=sLaWSNvFDpTWqwOTxKWyBQ

  3. Gee…..I will trade you all my non miracles for one of His. If you throw and stones sticks at Todd throw them at me and all my mentors and all their sons and daughters in Christ, we are all in error. I guess I must been so busy pursing God that I missed the part where you pray for people in Jesus name and actually see stuff happen. Nobody is an apt name for someone who strikes at another anonymously. Show me your prayer or hands on results and I will re evaluate my comments and lifes experiences.

    • Results are no proof that the Holy Spirit of God is moving. Jesus said that in that day many will claim to do many signs & wonders in his name. They will be declared to be workers of iniquity. Manifestations of the fruit of the spirit are the actual proof of a life lived in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. There are plenty of places in scripture which indicate that lying signs & wonders will be widespread throughout the world prior to his return. Only a life sold out to the principles of conformity to the charactor of Jesus Christ through the coming dark days of deception will manifest eyes that see & ears that hear.

  4. John Peaschey said “…..I will trade you all my non miracles for one of His”

Assuming by “His” with a capital ‘H’, you mean Todd, what miracle(s) has he performed on you? What miracle(s) have you witnessed him perform and can you verify any of these so-called miracles? Do you know the medical history of these people? Have you personally followed up with those supposedly healed? There are those that have tried; http://wordpress.com/tag/todd-bentley-miracles/
    The first link on the above site has this amazing quote;
“An angel ate all our medically verified healings.”
Brilliant! Can’t argue with that, nothing can stop a hungry angel.

Todd Bentley is just another in a long line of supposed prophets who take advantage of the gullible. You may choose to believe he is some sort of prophet all you want, I choose not to.

“Nobody is an apt name for someone who strikes at another anonymously.”

Thanks! Are you complaining because I’m using my nickname? I see no reason to use my real name on a blog such as this, it would not matter one bit, since any real sounding name would not necessarily mean it was my real name anyway. Just ask Dawkinswatch!

  5. … what people need firstly is getting the book of acts Pentecostal experiences.. and they will naturally next care for the poor people, act like real anointed Christians. http://groups.msn.com/HolySpiritCome

…Many Christians are doing their own thing, trying to live a life without Jesus, without even taking to him now often too.. Jesus himself hath said without me you can do nothing.. nothing!!!

  6. Now that Todd has fallen, I wonder how many who were on his bandwagon will jump off of it…

    Donny Pauling

    • Probably not many… I know many people who went to the TD meetings and they are all saddened by what happened but they didn’t lose the essence of what it means to be a Christian. In fact, many of them responded in LOVE. Praying for him, still believing in the Gospel and the Healing power of Jesus. Cut us some slack. Our faith in actually in God and not the man. Granted they were excited about what God was doing through TD but not stupid enough to think that the power originated with him. Love covers a multitude of sins. That’s why Jesus died on the cross-for yours and mine.

      December 13, 2010 at 1:31 am

  7. Donny Pauling are you a Christian and are you a sinner? Next time you sin tell the whole world.

It shows what a sensationalist you are to want to see how many people will deny renounce or be self-righteous. Look at your side, and the amount of hatred you are displaying, do you still claim to be people who had Jesus die for their sins? I think you are behaving as if you have achieved righteousness by your own efforts.

I do not blame you the religious spirit is one nasty demon.

  8. Amazing, A guy that operates in the same dimension as Jesus and the apostles and and he is being slandered and attacked. Hey, come to think of it they did that to Jesus and the apostles too. I’m glad that the body of Christ I know are praying for Todd, for the restoration of his marrage. Oh, by the way if you read your bible the miricles, word of knowlege even angelic visitation, are all scriptural.

    September 5, 2008 at 3:49 pm

    • Yes, all that is biblical. So are FALSE APOSTLES, FALSE PROPHETS, heretics, wolves in sheeps clothing, Ananias & Sophira, Demas, Judas, etc….not to mention lying signs & wonders or any of the other works of satan which are prophesied to occur.

  10. >>Now that Todd has fallen, I wonder how many who were on his bandwagon will jump off of it…

    September 11, 2008 at 3:45 pm

  11. Ha. Yeah, we’re all sinners. But the people who are criticizing Todd Bentley are looking at the fruit… and his fruit is a bunch of lies and twisting. Yes, Jesus and the apostles were faced with persecution, but not everyone who is persecuted is Jesus. Jesus told us to check things against scripture, as did Paul. Todd Bentley does not align with scripture, and his fruit proves it.

Hatred? I have hatred for the fact that deception is leading many of my brothers and sisters down a dark and dangerous path. For Todd? No, I pity Todd.

    November 30, 2008 at 12:59 am

  12. |What fruit are we talking about? What has he done which is wrong, why did he become the most hated individual on Christianity?

    December 1, 2008 at 1:25 pm

  13. We are told over and over to test the spirits, to ask for discernment and Paul even said to look for those who follow his (Paul’s) teachings. Not once have I ever seen that we need to trust people blindly?!
I am a proud (and humbly so) skeptic, I would rather check things out and make decisions for myself based on Biblical truth, rather than chase after things because they look appealing.
Todd Bentley, Benny Hinn (and Bill Johnson purely because he endorses the likes of them) I easily write off as false prophets.
Todd prays to an Angel Emma, for goodness sake – where in the Bible has an angel ever appeared and not been masculine (just one argument there)… And Benny Hinn is quoted so many times it is not even worth mentioning the absolute rubbish that comes out of his mouth!?

At least question these things… We can not just run after everything these people say blindly. That would be totally unwise and unbiblical!?

Well done “Nobody” If I had pom pom’s I would have been cheering you all the way 🙂

    March 6, 2009 at 1:41 pm

  14. I have never heard Todd Bentley praying to an angel called Emma.

Skeptic please provide proof, a false prophet has to give false prophecies according to Deutronomy 18, when did Todd Bentley give a false prophecy.

Look that is what happens with blogs, people quote each other and do not give proof.

    March 6, 2009 at 2:36 pm

  15. “… please provide proof, a false prophet has to give false prophecies according to Deutronomy 18, when did Todd Bentley give a false prophecy.

Please provide proof Todd Bentley is a true prophet.
    Would a true prophet lie?

“Look that is what happens with blogs, people quote each other and do not give proof”

Since when does “proof” matter to you?

    March 6, 2009 at 9:52 pm

  16. One more thing about discernment: suspicion is the evil stepmother of discernment. I have watched people be assassinated and their impeccable reputations destroyed in the name of discernment. Often the “witch” hunters have no facts or evidence, nor can they find bad fruit in the life of the one they are accusing. “Jealous and fearful” people often operate out of suspicion and call it discernment. This could be you or you could be their next victim.
