Exposing Evolution As A Mess and Atheism As Hot-Air!

Materialism: Why I Am Not An Atheist

with 14 comments

I have asked people why they were Atheist? I wanted to respond individually to them But I felt I might need a good space to respond to their objections.

1) Many People Have Experience The Spirit World

People who have converted to Christianity have gone from believing in the non existence of God, to being filled with the Holy Spirit.  Well It is rather arrogant for those Atheists to dismiss their experiences.

2) Yoga and Eastern Religions are About Yoking with gods (spirits)

I have featured Yoga gurus claiming to have experinced visions of the Spirit world after opening themselves up to  the spirit world. Now to a materialist. this does not make sense, but I have been around when I felt the existence of spirits. Former guru speaksout on Yoga.

3) Muslims Meeting Jesus

In Fact this how many Muslims are converted they experience Jesus and see him. Muslims Visions of Jesus.

Again Materialists need dismiss everyone out of hand without giving reasons why that should be.

4) Have You Ever Seen A Hypnotic Show

Anyone who has studied hypnosis knows that it is Mesmer or animal magnetism.  Now mesmer was a magician, in these situations Atheist/Materialists see the physical manifestations and do not perceive what it is.

5) Theurgy

I have mentioned the likes of Sir John Dee, the astrologist to Queen Elizabeth I , was into Angel Magic and he once drew a grey alien called Lam who he was communicating with.

Now to make Freemasonry more acceptable his successor as the leader of the Rosicrucian, Sir Francis Bacon withdrew theurgy and cabala from the lower orders and reserved them for higher degrees.  Was Lord Bacon Shakespeare?

6) Intelligence Experiments with Psychics

Well there is not demarcations between the world of intelligence and the occult some of the best spies were conjurers, Alister Crowley was a MI6 agent, Sir John Dee and Sir Francis Bacon were in valuable in the founding of British intelligence.  In “the Cold War”, both the KGB and CIA were heavily involved in psychic experiments.

Now you have heard stories about haunted houses, the odds on there not being a spirit realm are very small.

Please give me instances which prove materialism?

  1. “People who have converted to christianity have gone from believing in the non existence of God, to being filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Interesting. Prove it. How can we tell the difference between someone who claims they are filled with the ‘Holy Spirit’ and someone who really is? How can we be sure it’s actually the ‘Holy Spirit’ and not the ghost of Apollo?

“I have featured Yoga gurus claiming to have experinced visions of the Spirit world after opening themselves up to the spirit world. Now to a materialist this does not make sense but I have been around when I felt the existence of spirits.”

People claim things all the time. How can we be sure they are telling the truth?

“many Muslims are converted they experince Jesus and see him.”

In the flesh? Of course not. Have you heard of pareidolia?

Point 4 – I have no idea what you are talking about.

Theurgy – mumbo-jumbo. What is your point here?

Psychics – why does every psychic test fail? Why can illusionists recreate the abilities of psychics (even better in many cases) when they admit they are not psychic? Many, many unsubstantiated claims of haunted houses does not make at least one true – you can stack cow patties as high as you’d like but they still don’t become gold.

Sorry, dawkinswatch, your explanation is no explanation at all.

  2. Humanistdad, you’re right about Dawkinswatch, and his “explanations”. It’s typical of him though.

    Funny stuff, but he’s serious.

  3. I feel like I have wasted time reading this.

Dawkinswatch’s logic is worse than his grammar.

  4. Crikey – I am impressed the others have made rational answers to this, it actually makes no sense to me.

How is this a response to the comments on your previous set of questions?

Islam includes Jesus as a prophet, so Muslims “believing” in him makes sense.

  6. dawkinswatch,

What you seem to lack is a basic understanding of the methods of science. I would recommend reading “the demon haunted world” by carl sagan. You could greatly benefit from the baloney detection kit that is contained in the material.

  7. Also, I would be greatly interested in hearing a defense of the doctrine of hell from you. Why do you worship a sadistic and hateful god? You seemed to have skipped over this entirely from your original post.

  8. this doesn’t seem to address any of the concerns we raised in the last post…

  9. You’re right Zachblack, in Dawkinswatch’s strange delusional world he probably thinks he has addressed the issues – and it is us who truly do not understand.

  10. Sorry for those who say I have not addressed their concerns but I have decided to look at each objection at a time.

  11. @Josh, I am suprised that you have never had of psychic experiments by the CIA and KGB?

@ Humanstad- Cabala seems to be popular with the Hollywood crowd please tell them that this is baloney.

I cannot believe that you all dilsmiss the whole world’s experiences. We have studied the works of people like Aliester Crowley, Leadbetter, Madame Blavastksy- they all say they have conjured up spirits and communicated with them.

  12. Dawkinswatch,
It is not the “whole world’s experiences” I dismiss. I can only go by my experiences. Because of my experiences I believe that life on earth has evolved over millions of years. It is because of my experiences that I believe the Christian Bible (as well as other religious texts) is filled with folklore, ignorance and a glimpse of the ways of life two thousand or so years ago. It is because of my experiences that I do not believe there are any “gods”. I really could care less what others believe as long they are content with their own beliefs. But when you post stuff, and accuse everybody that they are wrong by using things like Satanists, Cabala, Freemasonry etc., it makes me wonder if you really know what you are talking about. Looking forward to your “addressing individual concerns by looking at each objection at a time.”
Hopefully you will have learned some reading comprehension by then, maybe spelling, grammar and basic writing skills also.

    Then again, maybe not.

P.S. Your Designsdelight blog is much better, you still can’t spell or compose complete sentences in many cases but at least it is not a controversial blog.

  13. Back @ dawkinswatch:

How do YOU KNOW Cabala is baloney? What tools/evidence do you use to conclude this?

(I agree with you because the things I’ve learned disprove Cabala. However, these same things also disprove Christianity, Islam, ghosts, spirits…)

  14. “”Now you have heard stories about haunted houses, the odds on there not being a spirit realm are very small.””

This guy RULES! I can read this over and over… it never stops being funny!

Do you really believe that haunted house stories dictate the existance of “a spirit realm”? Holy crap! If a thousand people a year claim that they see real spirits in haunted houses… all that means is that at least a thousand people a yaer are vocal about how intellectually immature they are.

Just a heads up man, not all anti-psychotic medication works the same for everyone. You should maybe go with one of the more “flatline” drugs like Lithium. Whatever you are taking is not working and may actually serve to just make the dimentia worse. Always consult a phisician before taking anti-psychotic medications.

Or you could keep going the way you are going and entertain the hell out of people like me who enjoy laughing at you!
