Atheists:Does Evil Exist? Part1

Does Evil Exist My Atheist Friends

I am often perplexed by the use of the word evil by Atheist and other materialist. What does the word mean to them?

-Is there a spirit called evil behind the liek of Hitler, Stalin and Chairman Mao which cause them to kill with flinching?

Stalin Mao and Hitler

Stalin Mao and Hitler

– What about pople who think that evil is good? Well be patient we will meeet a few of them.

– In our dailylives we see a combination of good and evil, some humans show more good than evil wihile others are even described as evil.

I wil be dealing with these question in this new series.

In the past I have dealt with varius manifestations of evil like Jimmy Paige buying Aleister Crowley. Or they sold their souls for Rock and Roll or for that matter in Hip hop. But we are going to zone in on instances were evil has manifested itself.

  1. You wasted ten minutes of my time. I’d cover my windows too with peeping toms trying to look in. By the way it was obvious that the gate was to the right of their door.

  2. Does evil exist as an entity? No. We describe the actions of Hitler et al as being evil because they go against our sense of ethics to such an extent that they are more than just ‘wrong’.

  4. But do you know think that Hitler became evil just beecause he was involved with evil spirits?

It is nearly impossible to kill another individual even in war situations. Only 2 per cent of human beings are capable of killilng another individual.

WTF? Are you saying that only 2% die on a battlefield? Give me a break. Given the correct situation, EVERYONE is capable of killing.

  5. Almost all mass murder is validated by religious claims. Even communism offered a religious motif. Evil versus sickness is nothing more than ignorance. People brainwash themselves to accept ideas as facts, using evidence that is disputable and has many possible explanations, but they settle on a single scapegoat. People who look on from afar see all the contradictions and label those who believed them evil.

A group of people commonly killed newborn infants after they were born healthy. The missionaries attacked their custom and converted them to the Christian way. They used to drop the babies down an ice hole. Were they evil? The old timers also committed suicide while the rest celebrated their death, were they evil?

These practices were part of ancient Inuit Eskimo culture. In the arctic starvation was an imminent threat. During lean winters entire clans would often starve to death. If times became critical those without “souls” they believed souls developed with personality in children (so newborns had no soul), and those souls nearing the end were sacrificed for the good of the clan.

Sound evil? We still do this today all over the world. We send our prime aged men and women to sacrifice for the good of the clan. Those wars are less defined and often about politics. So who is really evil? Inuits lived simply and didn’t believe in owning anything of nature. So, from time to time a sacrifice was made but as Christian Americans they were sent to fight WWII and thousands died. Which way is evil?

The Inuit would say, those Christians who risked the entire clan to selfishly raise one of their offspring in there enviroment, are evil monsters. Or those who would kill to protect a life of leisure, cheap oil, are evil. Or those who buy cheap items made by people who, if they lived here in the U.S., would be called slave labor, are evil.

These are evil ways and we need not put up pictures of Hitler to find evil. Excuses such as, we give those in India and other places a better living with our business are the same excuses we offered during the slave trade.
(We at least give them Christianity and have stopped the sacrifice common to the black savages. They have a better life here where in Africa they didn’t even get fed when they were enslaved and they had to deal with man eating lions)
Blah, blah, blah, evil is, stupidity believed and ignorance lived in bliss. Politics, (following orders), and religion, (following perceived orders) are the evils of the ignorant.

The argument about who will kill or evil spirits was debated 2500 years ago and pretty much agreed upon by the philosophers. Then 500 years later simple minded literalists of the mystery religions (including Christianity) threw the world back into the dark ages of justification.

Well I am glad you have spoken about child sacrifice, yes it is condemed in the bible but today it is practised again in the form of abortion.

Well people practised child sacrfice simply because the deities they worshipped were blood thirsty.

    • Child sacrifice was not only condoned in the bible, it was encouraged on several occasions. The bible also promotes slavery, murder of nonbelievers, murder of followers of other religions, murder of unruly children. You could go on and on. The old testament showcases one of the most bloodthirsty gods of any mythology. As the previous poster said, read your bible sometime!

  8. No, child sacrifice is not condemned in the Bible. See Exodus 22:29, Judges 11 and 2 Samuel 21. I think you need to spend a little more time reading your Bible young man!
