Does Evil Exist: theurgy

We have looked at the existence of evil in part one, let us now look closer at the evidene.

Theurgy:Theurgy (from Greek θεουργία) describes the practice of rituals, sometimes seen as magical in nature, performed with the intention of invoking the action or presence of one or more gods, especially with the goal of uniting with the divine, achieving henosis, and perfecting oneself. This the wikipedia definition.

Websters Dictionary

Definition of Theurgy
The´ur`gy Pronunciation: thē´ŭr`jŷ
n. 1. A divine work; a miracle; hence, magic; sorcery.
2. A kind of magical science or art developed in Alexandria among the Neoplatonists, and supposed to enable man to influence the will of the gods by means of purification and other sacramental rites.
3. In later or modern magic, that species of magic in which effects are claimed to be produced by supernatural agency, in distinction from natural magic.

Many Atheists, have not even heard of the word, but it is important one, if you are going to be a materialist you might as well know why you are one.

Now there is plenty evidence of theurgy throughout history.

Queen Elisabeth i and DSir John Dee

Queen Elisabeth i and DSir John Dee

Let us meet Sir John Dee, who were have dealt before with on this blog with especially with his protege Sir Francis Bacon.

Now John Dee was the chief astrologer in the court of Elisabeth the first but he was a practiser of Enochian Magic and they used to invoke “angels ” during their rituals and in one of those sessions Dee drew up the angel they used to comunicate with , by the name of Lam. Does he not look like a grey “alien”? The British were scandalised by Sir John Dee because of his cabalistic activities and force him out of court.

  1. You know what is funny DW?

(Well, besides your almost incomprehensible posts anyway)

There is a composer named Angel Lam.

Maybe you can work her into your loony conspiracy theories.

  5. Yes DW, I know it’s supposed to be soap and not sop, just like phiosophers is supposed to be “philosophers”. Half your words are misused or misspelled we’re all used to it.

You really should take a bit more care in composing your posts, you make yourself look like an idiot…but perhaps there is a reason for that.

“Look you guys are amateur phiosophers like Richard Dawkins and that Marxist Hitchens, you cannot deal with metaphysics.”

Just what medications are you on?

Yes, DW makes himself look very much the idiot, and not merely because of misspellings. Hitchens isn’t a Marxist, for one, and from a reading of this site I’m not sure that DW knows what metaphysics actually is.

  7. My dear friends all thought you make much claims to be learned, which has never been displayed, a mere concept like Theurgy, a word you seemingly never heard of let alone understood.

I want you to tell everyone what you thoughts on ,theurgy are.

I agave you a dictionary definition, have you noticed that everytime we try looking at any 2 dimesional concept, you repeatedly fall short?

Remember whe I asked you whether you had a soul? What was you answer.

We see you two have intellectual spans of two thick planks.

As for Sir John Dee, I think you are not ready for him.

  8. “I want you to tell everyone what you thoughts on ,theurgy are.”

Magic, helpful angels – nothing I believe in.

“…have you noticed that everytime we try looking at any 2 dimesional concept, you repeatedly fall short?”

    No

“Remember whe I asked you whether you had a soul? What was you answer.”

If your definition of soul is what I think it is then – No

“We see you two have intellectual spans of two thick planks.”

Which would make you less than a thick plank…just a lump?

“As for Sir John Dee, I think you are not ready for him.”

It’s OK that you think I’m not ready for him. Was he coming for a visit or something?

I’m beginning to think you’re bordering on insanity.

  9. This is garbage, it is not logical, philosophical or vaguely evidence in the most stretched version of the word. My condolences. Construct an argument, by constructing a thesis and following on it with thoughts but don’t claim something is evidence just because it is there.

  10. Sir we have to yet constructed an argument, it is as an open question- Does Evil exist?

Now Do you want to discuss Sir John Dee’s Enochian magic or the Rosicrucian tenants, I am very happy to engage you in a proper discussion.

  11. no, it doesnt exist. “evil” is a concept invented by humans, and varies from person to person based on your beliefs.

  13. No.
Stick around long enough and he won’t seem so funny, DW is mentally disturbed.

  14. If you really knew what you were talking about you would know that John Dee, a polymath, was NEVER ever raised to the dignity of the knighthood. Simple errors do not account for this. Do some actual research before you post, much less expect anyone to consider the theories that you present.
