Dawkins: God Is A Virus Of The Mind
If God is really a virus of the mind, then that must make Dawkins a bateria of the eye! I know I really should not poke fun at the learned Professor but he asked for it.
It is amazing that impressionable kids are swallowing all his propaganda without second checking whether what he says is mere verbal gimmickry? But he has always claimed to be an unreformed populist who will say anything if it sound good, he is really Professor Soundbite.

That joke is far more pathetic than any that I could have come up with. Are you fourteen?

We’re not “kids” (if only parents would stop teaching superstition) and it isn’t “propoganda”.
Let me introduce you to a few concepts that Dawkins uses:
Logic: the process by which arguments are evaluated for truth value. Using inductive and deductive logic, one can figure out what must or is likely to be true given certain premises.
Honesty: not claiming that certain things are true when they’re not. Not misrepresenting other people’s opinions or preventing the truth from being known.
Evidence: facts that support one’s arguments.
Science: the use of evidence and logic to understand how things work.
If you come to understand and embrace these concepts, you’ll realize why Richard Dawkins is considered one of the best (probably the best) science writers alive.

It is a metaphor Jack. As a Christian moderate you should be familiar with the concept. He is comparing ideas and ideologies to viruses- he doesn’t mean they are literal viruses.

There are no “dawkinites”. That is a term that you made up to make people who are committed to reason seem like factional cult members.
What is the average age of somebody who doesn’t believe in God? That’s a reasonable question, and I’m willing to bet that the age isn’t 16.

Change of topic.
The average age of someone who takes Dawkins’s line of reasoning seriously definitely is much higher than 16, because at a younger age you do not have the knowledge and most likely not even the exactness of thinking to follow his line of thought.
Believing is simple. You can believe all sorts of things and as far as religion is concerned you it is nearly impossible to know how realistic your belief is. Either there is no evidence at all or the believer twists the evidence so it fits his preconceived ideas.
Opponents of evolution are ignorant of the strong evidence there is for it and normally are scientifically illiterate. On top of that their ability to think logically – even reasonably – is not very well developed. And if they rise above a certain level of knowledge and/or intelligence, they have to adopt dishonesty in order to be able to uphold their position.
This is what Dawkins is quite clear about and that is the reason why he is disliked by so many creationists/IDers.
